TufShield delivers varnish-like or oil-like look but it employs more advanced polymer based chemistry. Unlike varnishes or clear 2 part systems failing within a short time because of a monolithic wood protection, TufShield uses multiple weather shields laid by two 1 part coatings, # 1 Base Coat and # 2 Top Coat. Both are separately programmed and fortified against the elements protecting woods with only minimum upkeep and unheard of simplicity of application.
# 1 converts wood to a new stabilized substrate. It saturates wood deep inside and solidifies within the fibers, forming an extremely tough, yet flexible shield .. It bonds like a highly potent laminating adhesive, so it allows the sanding fiber dust to be used as a reinforcing grain filler . Very substantial savings in labor and materials are produced. Loose fiber is buffed into the grain of the original surface with the TS Reducer moistened lint-free cloth. The first surface saturating Base Coat laminates it to the bottom of an open grain. The subsequent # 1 coats complete a fibre-reinforced substrate . # 2 Top Coat, works as a "sacrificial" absorber of weathering effect . # 1 armed with a primary UV screen remains in a dormant state on the wood surface protecting it in case of unintentional negligence of Top Coat maintenance.
